    dangling capacitor

I remove my instrument cluster on my 65 coupe and found a capacitor hanging loose loose from a blue wire that is spliced into a brown wire behind the rt side of the cluster. Trying to find out where to attach it to, it has a bracket with a screw hole.
    Any help appreciated,
    Karl

on page E371 - UPC U69 A5 of your 1965 AIM you will find the radio capacitor schematic. And see that your 1960960 capacitor attaches to a screw just to the left of the ignition switch in the lower right corner of your cluster.

      Karl -

That capacitor attaches to one of the cluster can screws just above the temperature gauge - see photo below, and your Assembly Manual, section U69, sheet A5, item #6.

Gee Karl when I first read your title I thought we were in for a grammar lesson. I guess the Editor in me is still barely alive.

Thanks for the help! I'm still getting used to the repair manual.

If you mean the Assembly Instruction Manual, good luck on that one. That book needs a separate instruction manual to explain how to find anything. An index would be a huge help. I think John H has explained the UPC system in the past, but I am too dense to make sense of it. However, once I have been able to locate the pertinent page, I can usually figure something out if I study it and think on it a bit.
            good luck

              Don -

Here's an article I wrote on how to understand and use the Assembly Manual - it should be helpful:

An internal error has occurred and the module cannot be displayed.
