Grant, That is a beauty. Is there a manufacturer's name on it. I know people who collect Anvils & vises. There is even a web site for them. If you are from Great Britain it is spelled vices, but here is the USA that spelling means something else. I don't know how you guys North of the border spell those clampy things.)

BTW: I do know some people who collect vices as well, but we ought not go there.

        Hi Joe and Terry

Yes that thing a ma-jig is the Anvil. I call it the Anus... You can beat the crap out of it and nothing happens.

Yes I also have a vice.........china brand. A real piece of crap. Its falling apart. Can't say much about their corvette repro parts either.

If they can copy a Hockey Jersey's to 99.98% correct why can't they do that with Corvette parts???

Oh well wait and see I guess.

        Anvil....Anvil gotta remember that

        Thanks, Grant

Here are some pictures of a finger tip fan that I bought on Ebay several years ago. The date code is H70 and the part number is 3992095. Does anyone know what car this fan will fit? I have a 73 LS 4 that I bought it for but I know that it is the wrong date code. I might end up listing it on Ebay someday. I just do not know what car it's correct for..... Thank you for any help you can give me!

Thanks, Grant! We also own horses and are quite familiar with anvils and portable blast furnaces (used to heat the shoes prior to forming to the foot). Makes sense. We'll see what the body guy used when I hear back.

Because the person on this end spec'ing out the part doesn't make them do it to 99.98% correctness. Blame this end of the product trail as much - if not more - than the other end.

Usually the issue with the repro world is two fold. The person specing out the part doesn't have a clue how the parts are made, is not an engineer, nor do they have the design or manufacturing knowledge to reverse these properly, and the supplier only quotes what's on that spec, or less.

                  Ken,

The fan (made by the Schwitzer Company) is for a 1971-1972 Corvette (454) w/A.C. as per my 1972 Corvette Parts Catalog (Sept. 1971). My 1979 Corvette Parts Catalog lists the fan for 1971-1973 Y (454) w/AC.

What is the Schwitzer part number (just to the left of the August 1970 date code, "H70")? I can not read all the digits.

GM #3992095 is applicable to and ONLY applicable to 1971-73 Corvettes with LS-5 or LS-4 and C-60.

                      Hey Ronald

                      That was a good one!!

BTW the Real Hockey Canadian Jersey's during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver were 425.00 and the fakes were 45.00

Anyways H 70 is August 1970. This would be on an early 71 454 car with AC. If the opening is 2 5/8th across or a little more then for sure a 71 454 with AC.
I have had some original fan clutches showing them one month apart being the fan blade dated before the clutch. I had one fan blade dated Jan 69 and it had an April 69 dated fan clutch.

Anyways hope this help regarding the H70 fan blade.

                        Re: Curved fan teeth?

Grant (and others), I've been noticing that there are many fans out there for sale or fan pictures posted and the H70 date seems to be very common. Is it reasonable to assume that a run of blades was made for all or most of the model year? If they ran out then make more?

If anyone is interested, post the date of yours. thanks!!

                        Grant, sent you a PM.
