Any help will be appreciated, I have a 65 327/365 with a carburetor issue. It appears that the choke linkage on my carburetor is causing the throttle linkage to stick after the engine warms up. I have the choke set according to specs. 1 lean. The choke cam is red plastic and I can't tell if the cam is the cause or if the linkage is the culprit. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm about to pull my hair out.

The choke rod (#55) correlates the amount of fast idle to the position of the choke valve. This rod is often tampered with and its proper length is very important.
The choke pulloff is a vacuum dashpot which unloads some of the choke valve closure once engine vacuum is established (when engine fires).
Another variable is the high speed idle screw adjustment (#180), although I don't believe that your trouble lies there.- Top

Re: 4150 Carburetor choke issue
make sure the little lead weight is in the end of the fast idle cam. this is the weight that make the cam falls and if it is not there the "wash" from the fan will "blow" the cam back onto fast idle position when driving down the road. this is also a problem for Q jet carb with the plastic fast idle cam the weight falls out and you have the same problem- Top
