    clarification on Document Validation Service

can this service then prove for sure that a car is or is not a big block from a tank sticker ONLY? can it tell if a tank sticker is the "real" deal? I guess i am still not sure that there is such a thing as a 100% sure bet on a BB car

Re: clarification on Document Validation Service

      Dale,

Let me clarify Rob's answer. Document Validation Service will validate the Tank Sticker as being real or not. Whatever options are listed on the tank sticker can not be confirmed. Only the Tank Sticker itself is validated. Not the options.

Hope this helps. Recommend doing searches on the Dealer Information forum as this subject has been covered in depth several times.

So I would say it is safe to say that we can answer the original question with a NO. The service will not prove for certain that a car was built with a big block.

Dale, if a 67 there are a number of other clues to look for, harder if the car has been taken apart at one point, but still you need to look at the car as a whole and by each of those pieces that could tell you its a fake.

There is a list of these that was posted on the forum just a few months ago...

            Tom,

It's a "Document Validation Service" only.

Unfortunately, the "Holy Grail" of options does not exist. Many GM employees and others have searched long and hard for that information. All came up empty handed.
