1971 TI Ignition in an LT-1

I was working on my LT-1 last night and was looking for the TI amplifier which is supposed to be inside the left front fender wheel well all I found was the wire. I have a TI distributor. How is this car running? Can it run without the amplifier?

follow the wires coming out of the dist and see where they lead. it should be a pair of white wires with one having a green stripe. the TI distributor can be used to fire a lot of different ignition systems

Les, mine is mounted so far forward, it can barely be seen looking from the engine compartment. Check the inner fender for the mounting hardware, that should give you an indication of it's placement.

I found the 3 wires in front of the radiator with a metal bracket and grommet followed it and it goes fthrough the radiator support on the let hand side into a round connector. That is how far i have traced it when I get time I will look at it again. Thanks for your input.

Solved the mystery one of the owners changed the wiring harness so there are two sets of wires going to the front fender wheel one is hooked up to the TI the other one is just sitting there doing nothing. But it drove me crazy. Thanks for your help.
