Doesn't anybody think that engines that are almost 50 years old will change tone and gloss after going through a zillion heat/cool cycles in a nasty environment with varying degrees of chemical exposure?
As far as paint, I've used Plasti Coat Chevy Orange for 30 years and like the results. It's possible to spray it dry and not have it overly glossy and if you want to wet it, it'll shine almost like bc/cc. The durability has been excellent and the color seems pretty close to me in comparison with some other stuff I've tried.
