In the engine compartment, I found cascade about 6" or soon from the top on the inner fender in the engine comparment and paint chips thru out the body. The cascade green was on top of red primer. From that, I beleive that it must be the original color. Mike, I am having this service performed at their shop under my supervistion. Thanks for the heads up on aggression. Is there a better way? My project is going to be a frame up. Wish I could handle a frame off!!! Thanks for your input. Any other tips??
Original primer was charcoal gray, not red, on 57's.

        Mike:

Red oxide primer was used in 1957. My very early #2xx was red, my later '57 ,#31xx was charcoal.

I posted a question regarding this subject a few years back. The response from board members would indicate that both colors were used throughout the year.

Another surprise!!! When removing the carpeting, I discovered there was a very light overspray of Artic Blue. Is it possible that the painters cleared their paint guns to go to the next color. The exterior, I am sure it was cascade but this new discovery has me puzzled. any comments

Mike: You are so correct. When I saw the 1960 I was very sceptical until I talked further to the owner and when Igot home looked up colour chips.
Good point on the different years.

Let's see, I see a nice brick driveway, shrubbery, bark mulch, grass....and wet paint chips. There's no way you'll ever pick up all of those chips.

Interesting method, Ken, but it will only work if there is not good adhesion to the primer. I once had friend who stripped his vette with putty knives and paint scrapers. He was carefull not to gouge the primer, and the paint came off just like yours.
