Clutch Rod Shoulder Bolt Assembly Sequence

    Gents,

Recall there are five pieces to the assembly. The Clutch Rod, Clutch Rod Shoulder Bolt, Clutch Rod Shoulder Bushing, washer, and nut.

After inserting the bolt through the bushing, does the washer go between the rod and the bushing or the nut and the clutch rod? The AIM has a picture with parts, but cannot determine the sequence of the washer install.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Clutch Rod Shoulder Bolt Assembly Sequence

Figured out the fix by searching the threads again.

I read a thread where someone placed a ton of washers between the spring grooves. That didn't seem practical.

This procedure was followed with the gorilla spring already removed.

Remove shoulder bolt; attach the gorilla spring to the z-bar; take a crescent wrench and attach to the obvious part of the z-bar; pull the z-bar back a tad and insert the shoulder bolt; attach the clutch rod, then washer, install nut and tighten.

Minimal work and ensures the rubber inside the clutch push rod shoulder bolt bushing isn't damaged.
