C2 Job Number

Hi guys! I dropped the gas tank on my 66 today. This exposed the job number on the rear bulk head. The job number looks like Q56. I'm assuming this is job number 56. However, what does the "Q" represent? I thought job numbers were all numbers. Also found the same number on the RH front foot well. I have AO Smith Body #5022, VIN# 1161##. Any thoughts would be Appreciated..

Please post a pic so we can help you, this number should match the number written on the cowl, and... are hand written so while it may seen like a q it might be a 9.

I just sent you an email. However, the short story is that AOS used job number that ran 1 through 500, and advanced the letter with each run of 500. So the sequence ran A1 through A500, B1 through B500, C1 through C500, etc.
