I know we all get tired of the scammer ads on Craig's List and Auto Trader but this one made me laugh so hard my sides hurt. It really takes the cake.

What is funny about the ad?

Red/red...almost certainly not original colors, but that's extremely common for a straight axle, and I don't blame the owner for "trying" here. It's not a blatant case of misrepresentation, although anybody with savvy will deduce that the car probably started life with some shltty color combo, like saddle/saddle.

The 4000-some-odd mile claim is obviously AFTER the restoration. Again, no red flag here.

The "front drive" descriptor is obviously a typo.

What else??

I thought that 62 was the only C1 with the rear that looks similar to mid-years. I guess I had that wrong, sorry about that!

What's not funny about this description?

"The car it's in mint condition, owned by a female, non-smoker, I never had any pets inside of it nor food. It was used only in the w/e for running errands and it was always garaged. This car never say rain nor snow. I took it on a regular basis to the dealership and it was last serviced a month ago when it has its oil changed and everything. Tires and brakes were changed 3 weeks ago, meaning they are as new."

It sounds like they're selling a 2006 Camry. "just took it to the dealership for new brakes and an oil change." Only used for running errands!!! OMG how is that NOT funny????

A top flight '61 for $21,199 and it even has an NCM sticker in the window. I'll bet you dollars to pesos if send them an email, they are using the "Google Buyer Protection Program" and will ship me the car (because they're out of the country trying to recover their kidnapped mother) as soon as I wire them the money via Western Union.

Believe it or not, it's always garaged and has custom wheels , Fully loaded , Low mileage , Never seen snow , New tires , No accidents , Non-smoker. For $12,250 - I guess I need to choose between this and that 2003 Taurus.
