I need to replace my shocks on my 59 what brand is best for a smooth ride? Thanks

I had 205x75x15 tires and used the KYB gas shocks. They were white in color so I painted them before putting them on. I was very pleased with the ride but have nothing to compare it to.

I went to the local Chevy dealership and ordered shocks from the General. They were about the same price as the major part vendors charge. I noticed today that after 18 months, the exteriors of the rear shocks are rusted. The manufacturer did not put much money into corrosion protection. I guess it is what is inside that counts and they are not leaking!

I am not sure that "smooth ride" and C1 go hand-in-hand.
