I am helping a friend with a 1957 May built car in which he has a dilemma about. When stripping the car he found the car was drilled for windshield washer nozzels. Underneath the cowl was some black cloth tape which looks like it was factory installed.
Here are some other clues:
1. There are no indention on the bottom side of the cowl for and evidence for a washer for the nozzels.
2. There is not any holes drilled in the floor board for the washer pump.
3. There is not any holes drilled in the inner fender for the washer resovior bracket.
So how to repair, install the washer nozzels, or repair the cowl as if they were not installed. If repairing the cowl what would be the beat way to fix as to be not evident that the nozzels were install.
Could this be a factory error. When were the cars drilled for the nozzels.?
Thanks!
