For 1967, when choosing to delete the radio option, would this ever force any other non-compatable option? I understand the L-88 forced radio and heater delete, but was wondering if any other RPO's were affected by choosing radio delete.

Hugh:
At that time radios were not standard equipment. You had to specify the U69 if you wanted a radio in 67. If you did not specify it, you did not get it. It wasn't a "delete" as we often hear.
The heater was a different story since it was standard, you could delete it for a credit.
I do understand your question though and would have to answer no to the absense of U69 affecting anything else on the car.Tom Hendricks

Exactly. If you didn't order a radio, you didn't get one. On L-88's it was not orderable rather than being "deleted".
As far as I know, no other RPO's were affected if one did not order a radio. Of course, things like ignition RF shielding were part of the radio RPO, so if you didn't order a radio, you usually didn't get the shielding, either.
By the way, 1967 was the last year one could delete a heater for credit. Beginning in 1968 federal regulations required that cars have windshield defrosters. This required a heater so it could no longer be deleted.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: U69 Delete
The only ones I know of:
1) Heater and defroster delete for 63-67 (for 1953-61 the heater was optional so it could not be "deleted");
2) Radio delete for 1980-88 (in 1979 an AM-FM radio became standard in Corvettes. Due to "consumer protection" issues of not forcing buyers to order a factory radio if they preferred to obtain an aftermarket unit, a radio delete option was initiated for 1980).In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: U69 Delete
A bit similar to the P91 blackwall nylon tires offered as a $ 16 option in 1965 (although not a carry-over from 1964). Instructions to deplete in complete sets (of 5, I suppose). NCRS books say thru January or later if documented. I know that # 5106412 had them shown on original window sticker, which is within that period.
I always wondered why the blackwall nylon tires were offered in the first place.- Top

Gene, My 1965 was a Feb 10th car and it had drum also. So they must have had a supply or leftovers for most of the year. Mike- Top
