    67 Coupe Window Felt Install

I'm installing repro door panels on my 67 coupe. The panels do not have the upper window felt moulding attached. My originals are attached with staples thru the moulding and the panel. Is there another way to attach these mouldings? If using staples can they be installed tight enough to firmly secure the trim to the panel?

    Thanks, Rick

I have seen guys that have pop riveted them on. But if your going to have your car judged, most judges will spot the pop rivets.

Rick, You can replicate the staples with a wire of the same thickness. You can bend the wire with some needle nose pliers. You can use a small drill to make the holes for the wire.
      Good Luck!

Take the time to install them as stated above. Pop rivets catch even the novice's attention and would make me think what else was done wrong on the car.

Thanks Guys. I think I'll try the staple route. Do I need to get wire with a certain temper in addition to the correct size? My thought is that if it is too soft I'm not sure it will hold.

I always used a little 3M trim cement & straightened out cotter key wire of the right tnickness. It's soft enough to work with & will hold forever.
