    1960-radiator fan spacer, painted?

    I am removing the fan blade assembly to repaint it semi-gloss black.

    Should the spacer be painted or not?

      Joe,

      I have looked at many 1960's over the years and have yet to find one with a painted spacer. I believe the judging manual calls for it unpainted.

          I agree with Rick. I've never seen a painted spacer. The one on my '60 is bare.

              That is enough confirmation for me. The 1958-1960 Judging Guide is silent on whether it is painted or not. Mine will be unpainted for judging at Lone Star Regional in 2 weeks. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

                  Did the judges comment on the spacer at the Regional Joe? I'm trying to figure out how to brighten up the surface of mine. I'm wondering if this is aluminum? Might try some aluminum cleaner on it on the sides where it doesn't show.
