do these screws belong in 66 door?

These screws are in the top inside of my 66 coupe door. I don't recall seeing them in other cars. Do they belong there? Thanks

Hi Russ, I would say NO, I have never seen anything like that before on any C2. Phil 8063

What is a little strange is that both doors have them in the same location. I am wondering if someone could have added something like window shades. Any body know if there were such a thing back in the 60s?

Before I go weld these holes up, do others agree that they don't belong? Thanks, Russ

          Russ -

Weld 'em up - they don't belong.

                Russ,

I believe those little screws started a craze in the crowd back in the 60's called "Hang On Air". The term is still used today but it works better if filled with freon instead of water!!!!!
Looks like both Mom and Pop had their own personal AC system!!!

You mean the 1930's, right? The television show "Desert Car Kings" had one on one of thier jalopys that they partially restored. If there was one on your car it may have been a newer version.
