I am going to put in a Restoration repop battery that has been on the self unopened for several year in my 66 and wondered how many quarts of acid do I need to get from NAPA? At $12.00 buck a quart it's not expensive, I just don't want to keep any excess around if I don't have too.

Re: 66 Battery Acid?
I emptied a 63 tar top and refilled it with water several times last week. I poured the water in from a gallon jug. Since I was pouring only water, I was not overly careful not to spill any. It took less than a gallon, probably more than three quarts each time I did it.
I have the acid I took out in a gallon jug and it's not nearly full, I'll look at it tomorrow and tell you how much came out.- Top

Re: 66 Battery Acid?
I was surprised but it took 4.5 quarts to fill my Restoration re-pop battery to the bottom of the split ring. John, I went to Auto Zone and got the other three quarts and you were right on, less than $4.00 bucks a quart. I just paid $12.00 a quart to my local NAPA store that I have been going to for over twenty years and will be going back today to talk about their price.
I have seen the posts about the life expectancy of these batteries and I have followed the instructions to the letter and will curious to see how long it will last.- Top
