Looking for some help, There is a revision for the engine harness on pass. side around hood support area. Is the correct routing for my Mar. 63 car under the hood support bracket or below the support? Also the over flow hose was moved. was it routed over hood support? Thanks for your help.

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Hi Ed, my old 63 Coupe, sn 13528 had the wires and overflow underneath the hood support. It had holes there for the black plastic retainers also. Not sure how long this went on after that.

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Dan, Thanks for the reply, I think the AIM shows a pic of the wires routed under the support bracket, And I wasn't sure if this is the revison Or if it was just the the earlier cars. As my car was apart for restoration and thought there were originally routed under the support (my car Ser. no is 10674).New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
My 19xxx has them on the outside of the hood support (towards the outside of the car). I always have trouble with the plastic strap as the bend in the hose is such that it stresses it and tends to pull it out of the hole. I've had to resize the hole smaller several times and replace the strap.

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Ed, my post was misleading. I said my 63 harness and hose ran 'under' the hood support. By under, I meant beneath the support, not around it. Hope that is better. Would assume yours didn't go around the support either.

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Dan, that is how mine are routed, I was wondering as Stu,s car has the hose over the top and wires throught the support bracket. Is that correct Stu?New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Ed, If your inner fender is original it will only be drilled for one routing location. Both the cars I just finished were in the 9300 range and they were both below the hood prop.

Re: 63 Engine Wire Harness Routing Revison
Joe, Thanks for your input, my car was drilled for the location below the support.
I noted in the JM that there is a conflict with two areas pretaining to the balance hose and eng.harness, in the Chassis. section the after VIN 8000 it shows it outboard of the support, then in the mech. section it says up vin 13500 the hose and harness run inboard of the support. so I just had to wonder if my car was routed correctly. Maybe just another over looked era.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
