    Re: repro window sticker

Here's what appears to be an original 67 sticker I found online. See the number in the upper right. An original sticker should have this. Plus an original sticker will have some other unique features that are hard to duplicate.

      Re: repro window sticker

There are also significant differences in the two window stickers for the Exception Control Letters (ECLs) for the various options.

I would check Noland's Book on Corvette Restoration (Volume 2) and the book by Roy Sinor and Al Grenning on Trim Tags and ECLs to see which ones are correct for 1967 for the various colors and options. This will help to resolve the issue.

      Larry

EDIT: Appears BOTH window stickers indicate inconsistancies with the 1967 ECLs.

        Mark;

If I were you, as you stated you just wanted the repro for shows, get your data correct and even send them a copy of the one you believe to be correct. I'm sure they can redo it, and it will be more than adequate to fulfill your needs. I got my original and copied it to have Triple A make me up some repros. I have a lot of fun with it on the window at shows. A great conversation piece, and my original is at home tucked away safe. I couldn't ask for more. You want the data to be correct, but who cares or knows about the type of paper or the exact font except your NCRS piers and they know its' purpose and will not fault you for it.

          Stu,
That sounds like a good plan, I will send them a color copy and go from there
          Thanks for all the assistance

I've taken off hundreds of window stickers and that's what they look like when removed very carefully ! Most of the time they fell apart.

Both repros. Along with the items already mentioned, the font, the spacing, and the prices are all "inconsistent with an original". Also, all the early repros have the green "Chevrolet" in script, as in "Chevrolet". Not correct

Were there any price changes during the year? Does either one of the pair first presented have correct prices?

My 2 cents is that the font is way off on both the stickers.... I have a real deal....i'd be happy to send you a picture.....but I am sure you can find a picture of a real sticker out there.....good luck with your car....and enjoy it....best regards...ARA

                      Re: repro window sticker

I'm pretty sure that the coupe base price never changed thoughout the year. I've seen many original 67 window stickers from 6XXX to 20XXX, and they all list $4353 as the base price. I assume that would be the case for the convertible also, base price of $4141. Never really compared option prices throughout the year.

                        Hi Mark:

I have owned two old Corvettes (61and 62) purchased from Holler. Also, have bought several others from them. They lost their dealership during the GM meltdown. I do have a great pic of the dealership if you would like it. Also, of their unique sign.

You can't imagine how many Chevy dealers are gone in the last 4 years. Worse in this electronic age it seems all the data goes when they shut down, loose their association and change their website name.

                                Mark and Tom:

They were good folks. In fact, I believe the original Holler was a VP for Chevrolet. I'll post photos next week when I get home. Bought cars there since 1970. They were notorious for leaving keys in the cars at night even after losing cars and being warned. Always wondered how many sets of keys they eventually found on the roof of their building!!
