    brake repairs

I have a '78 L82 four speed. I am trying to replace the brake vaccumn booster. do I have to take out the steering column to reach the top bolts and the link between the brake pedal and the booster connector? I have the driver seat out but still having a hard time reaching anything.

Steering column is very easy to remove. Wiring harness, two? bolts on the firewall, and the coupler. Column should slide right out and make it a little easier.
