    1962 Diaphragm Clutch Problem�Need Help

    About six months ago, my Centerforce diaphragm clutch and flywheel were taken in for balancing but the technician refused to do the job unless we removed the weights on the fingers. This we did.

      I used a couple of Centerforce II clutches years ago on a couple of project cars (including my Grand Sport replica) and had no issues; however, I recall several Centerforce users complaining about idle-rpm rattles/rumbles, which disappeared immediately with increased rpm, no doubt related to the weights.

      Since then I've used a number of LuK clutches on both 10.5" and 11" applications, with no issues; LuK is the world's largest manufacturer of OEM clutches, with an extensive line of vintage replacements.
