noise when hooking up battery on 82

My 82 has sat for about a year or maybe two . I put a new battery in it but when i hook it up i hear a loud noise from around the back of the car. Could it be that there is a sticking fuel pump or is there another motor which is making the noise. How do i fix it. If it is the fuel pump do i have to take off the spare tire, and the gas tank. l isn't there some where I can kick it.

Don,

I have run across a couple of '82s that had a problem with the antenna motor running with the battery connected. If you disconnect the wires from the antenna motor and reconnect the battery maybe the noise will have stopped. If so, time for antenna trouble shooting or replacement. Regards,

Arland & Tom-- Yep it was the antennae motor. when I found the proper fuse and pulled it it stopped. I did not fix the problem . will have to do that next year. Anyway thanks guys,.
