Re: just saw this on a different website
I just went to their site and I saw a news item that said that there was a "non compete" in effect. I called Grundy and was told that they can no longer place classic car insurance unless it's combined with some other product that Grundy offers.
I've been insured with Grundy for 4 years and my insurance card always showed "Philadelphia Indemnity" as the carrier. When I asked about my renewal, I was told that Grundy would not be renewing my insurance next June, but that Philadelphia Indemnity will be contacting me directly for the renewal.
Thanks.- Top

Re: just saw this on a different website
Glad I didn't go with them. I was tempted a few years back listening to him on My Classic Car about "No restrictions etc.". I called and the agent told me all about the restrictions, so I hung up. Near as I could tell what he said on TV was NOT in fact accurate. Shame.- Top

Re: just saw this on a different website
I've had Grundy for years, always easy to get ahold of someone, nice folks to deal with, when I had a hail claim last year , they couldn't have been nicer, paid a fair settlement, as far as i know the only limitation on the policy was that they wanted the cars parked inside and no drivers under 25, seemed fair to me, I'm gonna miss them, but i would imagine Philadelphia, will continue the great service i've become accustomed to, Grundy was much easier to spell though when i wrote the check once a year.- Top

Re: just saw this on a different website
i used grundy a few years back. one day they sent me a new form to fill out. they said it was just to update their files. it asked what my daily driver was. at the time i was using a 1986 el camino for construction. they refused my application that they sent me even though i was already insured by them. they said my daily driver was too old for my everyday car and it would probably break down so i would have to use my corvette for work. policy cancelled. i now use the corvette museum's classic car insurance. works out just great. i ask...is there a better place in which to insure your classic corvette than the museum which is right accross the street from which they are now built?- Top

Re: just saw this on a different website
Just got back from the Good Guys show in Charlotte. Talked to a Grundy rep there and he claims nothing will change with PI taking over Grundy insurance, so who are ya suppose to believe? Seems kind of dumb to buy a collector car insurance company and then not insure those cars. What would they make their money on?
