Re: Hard Top Plastic Window Date Code
Seriously, look at post #5 which shows and explains how the codes were placed for 1967. I believe that all midyear plexiglas had the same placement (someone interject if that's not the case). In any event, my original post not only questions my unintelligible first character, but asks how/why mine were stamped together, not separate. I'm fairly certain that my plexiglas did not come from my car originally. I'd like to decipher just where it came from based on the odd placement of the characters, whereupon, an educated guess might be able to be made on what that mysterious character might be.

plexiglas 10 64.jpgAn interesting 10-64 date code, does this conflict with the 65 dates, year lower left and month upper right?- Top

Re: Hard Top Plastic Window Date Code
In reviewing this old thread, my guess is that the rear window date is January 1965. This doesn't mean that the hardtop is not for a 66, maybe the window was left over for the 66 production year. Or maybe the liner was changed, and it is for a 65.
If you strip the liner, you'll probably find a date stamped on the underside of the hardtop which represents when the hardtop was made.
For judging, just remember the six month rule. On options you might give a little.Jerry Fuccillo

Re: Hard Top Plastic Window Date Code
Wayne when did the date codes change ? it makes one of my rear glass June of 65 or May of 66 . Another way to get a idea is by the color of the fiberglass . White , light gray or dark gray . I have a E/F & a E/B Im guessing a E/F is a June 65 or a May 66 ( it had dark gray fiberglass ) & a E/B Feb 65 it had light fiberglass .- Top
