67 Speed Warning (Camaro)

Does anyone know if the "guts" of the speed warning option is the same in Camaros as it was in the Corvettes?

The tiny blue gear/shaft assembly thats in my brother's 67 Camaro is sheared so you can't set the pointer anymore. I was thinking that if I could find this gear that I might try replacing it myself or if anyone knows of a speedometer repair shop that works on the speed warning portion then I might just get him to send it out.

I forgot all about this over the winter so now the pressure is on! If anyone could let me know of a source for this is gear or some place to send the speedo to to have it replaced I'd really appreciate it. IMG_1780.jpg

I hate to bug you guys again with non Corvette stuff but my brother is getting anxious to get his car on the road again and I haven't had much luck with fixing his speed warning. We tried Bob's Speedometers(suggested from a Camaro site) and was quoted about $450 to repair his so that isn't going to happen. He also won't sell the gear outright so I'm trying to source one from someplace else.

Can anyone suggest where I might find this gear? If it comes down to it I'll just have to make one but I really don't want to take the time to do that if possible.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Greg,
That part is the same for Corvettes and Camaros! That gear is not only snapped off the gears are ruined which points to the speedometer needing repair other than the gear.
Any Corvette Speedometer shop can handle the project but it will be expensive as a full restoration will be needed along with a discontinued gear that is nearly impossible to find. $450 is probably the going rate!

Greg:Your pic doesn't look anything like my '67 Speed Warning Speedo. In the back side pic below, the black shaft and gear goes to the adjustment knob on the front of the speedo. I would say from your pic that the Camaro is not the same as a Corvette. With that said, Corvette Specialties of MD West reburbished my speedo which included work on the speed warning portion. He did my tach and speedo for just under $700 in 2012. They're like new, but it was pricey.
