Transmission Tag

I have located the correct transmission tag for my M20. Is there a problem with removing the single bolt and inserting the tag and then replacing the bolt? I was told once not to remove just one of the plate bolts. Can't remember why not to though.

I can't see why not. All 7 sidecover bolts have "blind" holes -- ie. not tapped through the thread bosses into the gear lube. And they are relatively low torque fasteners (15-20 ft.lbs).
