If it rolled three times, that's saying a lot about the strength and integrity of the birdcage!! I always assumed it was less stout than what this car appears in the picture.

When I was a kid I worked for a local MD on a Grady Davis 63. Dr. Blatchley rolled the '63 at least twice as I recall.
Clem will remember this. The car was at Grabiak Chevrolet body shop quite a lot in it's days and didn't suffer that much from the rolls. I personally watched Doc "gently" roll it on it's side at the Connellsville airport. A couple of guys pushed it upright and old Doc was on his way again. I remember Doc was not too impressed with my sense of humor that day.
Those cars were stronger than given credit for.

What terrible bad luck, Tim. From the photo, it does not look too bad. Hopefully you will be able to have the car repaired and brought back to its pre-crash condition. Sorry for your loss.

Peter, the good news is this isn't my car. The owner still lives in California and this was his new Corvette in 1963 and it was totaled that year.

Big difference in perspective- back then it was just a messed up new car today it's an investment.

If you don't now how to drive em and not careful and respect all the HP, it still happens today. Same results, different year.
