Re: Can you Identify
Chris,
Why did you point out that they are all metal?
Are there plastic ones out there?
I have a set of NOS centers, not the flat part, just the centers. I will try to dig them out and see if the numbers are any different.- Top

Chris-----
The plastic ones are not good for the judging field. However, they are great for "on-the-road" and, especially, when the car will be parked in "vulnerable" areas and out-of-sight. The GM caps, while still available, carry a list price of over 250 bucks each. This makes the on-car covers good candidates for purloining. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Can you Identify
Joe,
I appreciate the good information. I was out of the hobby for years and years until about 18 months ago when I started working on my 63 again.
Let me tell you. After Corvettes being a huge part of my life when I was younger, it was really hard to get used to this "C1" and "C2" stuff. Back then we were still not sure what to call the 68-72 cars and the 63-67 were mid-years and then there were the straight axles.
I come back to the hobby (no, i never did sell my cars) and everything was a "C3" or whatever. I am finally getting used to it.
Because I mess up on the "C's", people quite often ask me if I am new to the hobby. When I tell them "no", I am sure they think I am not telling the truth.
Bla, Bla, Bla, My point in running on is: a lot of parts that I have laying around that I think are common place are now turning out to be very rare. Time for me to get in touch with what is really going on out there these days.
So, Joe, thanks again for the input.
Monte
PS The 63 is put away and I am back to working on the 72. Great group of C-3 people on this site. I really had to think about what "C" to use. Still have a ways to go.- Top
