If you spend the time and look closely, there is a lot of information on the INTERNET.

This log covers a great new book of TEXAS and Southern Racing in the 50's look at the neat info and photos about HAP SHARP and DAVE MORGAN. Dave , who still lives in Tulsa told me his car was a special built by Zora's hand at St. Louis. Both of these cars were way under weight (about 2200 pounds) and were really fast. He and Hap were finally protesested so many times that they had to sell the cars.

DICK THOMPSON is featured later in the string. http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=143555

      Tom,

If you ever have the opportuinty to get some undercar photos of John's aztec copper 56 on the lift that would be interesting especially to see how what the exhaust looks like.

If Tom has no pictures you might check with the judges at the April 2011 Joplin NCRS Reginal Meet. They had that car on the lift for a judging seminar and I would assume that someone took pictures. (I was not there at that time)

Sure would be nice if ART ARMSTRONG would share the GM Chevrolet engineering drawings he has.

Jim, I don't know what drawings you are referring to, but I do have the Engineering Work Orders for the 56 and 57 race programs. as far as sharing them goes........I think you know the answer to that question.

            Art,
Since I have no clue who you are or the circumstances , could you enlighten me on the question concerning the shareing of the Corvette 56 - 57 race program information?
Sounds like you have some great historical information.

Bruce, I would love to share the documents in question with the Corvette world, however there is someone on this board that has "done me wrong", as the song says, and I therefore refuse to just give him the documents that will validate his car as an Engineering Race car. It would also assist him in restoring it to the Chevrolet Engineering condition and would no doubt increase its value tremendously.

There is a long history on this subject and I don't feel that this is the venue to discuss it further.

I will add that the 1956 SEBRING #1 C/M Modified car also has the Houdaille shocks and 4 leaf springs. So I believe that the 56 SEBRING engineering cars, all of the SR-1'S and possibly all of the 57 Fuel injection cars that raced NASSAU on December 7, 1956 had this suspension. That is more than 7 however.

When SEBRING 57 occurred in March 23-4, the engineering had developed RPO684, using different shocks and 5 leaf springs. BUT......we all inspected the vin#1034 car, and it had engineering 6 leaf rear springs, with 010 engineering prefix original numbers. 8 sets were made (a spare for each side, each car), and they were sent to SEDCO in Atlanta for delivery by March 1, 1957. SEDCO was the company set up be GM Engineering where NASCAR and DAYTONA and SEBRING cars were assembled prior to shipping cars south. We found an 87 year old worker who DROVE the #3 car to Florida with another employee who is now deceased who drove the #4 car.

Sure would be nice if ART ARMSTRONG would share the GM Chevrolet engineering drawings he has.

Also I hear TIM PARTRIDGE is writting a book on this very subject. His 1957 P3 SEBRING car will be at MECUM Florida Auction in January. SEE http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...=FL0112-121170

I should go and watch, but Southern California weather is usually 100% better. Last time I attended was 2000. Don't know if I have the energy.
It was brought to my attention yesterday that Tim has pulled his car from the Florida Auction due to a family health issue. Speedy recovery Tim.
