What are those new icons?

For those not familiar with the latest thing on internet these icons at the top of this screen, our NCRS home page and in our new web-shop are Facebook, Twitter and Google+ buttons. When you have a presence on one (or more) of these social media channels you can mark, using these buttons, a page as being of interest for your "friends".

This will promote the NCRS in your network and possibly attract new members to our beloved club! More and more people are joining the social media each day and even the NCRS is present on Facebook via: http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis...c79b263b1a0714

Don't be afraid to experiment a little with this "new stuff", it provides you additional means to stay in contact with all your family and friends...

It's not your imagination, I've noticed a momentary lag until all the icons load before I can scroll down to the posts.

Some people have reported slower response but I can't reproduce here wth any of the know browsers. I do notice the icons themselves loading a bit slow but the page is there just as swift as ever.

It is true our server is a bit overloaded and we are making preparations to move to a new (virtual) server...

Life is full of security concerns... If you wan tot avoid them, just stay in home the whole day and your still not completely without risk...

I stated that because I work computer security on a DAILY basis and people tend to forget that ALL of these additional "wiz bang" tools open up new holes that most have no clue exist.

The extra time required to load a web page encumbered with Facebook, Twitter, or other external links is quite well known and should not be dismissed as non-existent or trivial. It's real- and it's a pain. I've used adblock plus to minimize the issue.

I've spoken to John about the delay and it's still happening. These delays are really becoming a pain!

Considering how few people on this site are using these social sites, how about removing these icons until the problem can be resolved.

I don't have a problem with these sites being accessable from the TDB, but I'm having a real problem with these delays!!!!!
