63 Cylinder head dates

Is there an amount of time that would be considered to be "typical" between block casting and cylinder head casting dates? If it is a consideration, this is on a 63. I am in search of a pair of 461's for my September 25th built engine.

This is for an April 20th 1963 car build date. Engine build date of April 15th 1963.

Block D 5 3

Heads C 28 3 & D 1 3

The heads are not original to the engine but are the correct heads. I just made the assumption that the casting dates needed to be as close as possible to the block.

My opinion is within two weeks either way. I have seen heads cast the same date as the engine block they came from.

Raw cylinder head and engine block castings arrived in Flint asynchronously for the foundry in Saginaw. Some went very quickly to the line for subsequent secondary operations & assy while others went into inventory.

Inventory wasn't controlled on a strict FIFO/LIFO basis so when raw castings were pulled to feed the engine assy process, they came rather randomly. If a new shipment of say, heads, hadn't been received in a while, then it's possible for the inventory bin/shelf to deplete itself and you could get older cast date parts (bottom of the bin/back of the shelf) pulled to meet up with freshly cast blocks...
