    L79 timing tab

Here is a photo of the timing tab on my 65 L79.

According to my Judging Guide the tab should be tack welded to the timing cover, so I assume because mine is bolted on it will result in some point deductions? Is my timing tab the kind described in the JG as "the larger style timing tabs prevalent in the 1970's and later"? Also, should the timing marks be left unpainted?

    Thanks for your input.

Bolt on tab would be judged as a service replacement at best, the configuration is incorrect (Round, should be flat) as well as the mounting method (not spot welded to the front face of the cover)

In this case, the JG is correct.
