In 1963 were the tachometers different for the 300 hp and the 340 hp, appreciate the help I receive here. Mike

250/300 HP: 5000-5300, yellow; 5300-7000, red
340/360 HP: 6300-6500, yellow; 6500-7000, red
Depending on fading, the above colors have to be taken with a grain of salt, and early tachs used different shades than later tachs, so "red" may appear as orange or magenta.
The 250/300 HP engines used the "base engine" cam that dated to '57, and the 340/360 HP engines used the Duntov mechanical lifter cam, which moved the torque and power peaks about a thousand revs up the scale and added about the same amount to the valve train limiting speed.
