      i saw it in mickey thompson corvette at daytona in 1963 and had no idea what it was.

            Thanks for sharing that article about the first Mark IV 427 engine. I saved that one off for future reference. Those headers sure seem to vindicate Duke's view that the big block needs bigger pipes, less back pressure. I wonder what the part number of those headers are and how scarce they are?

              My friend (neighbor) had a 68 Camaro SS 396/
              375 with that cowl type air cleaner from the factory. I have never seen it before or since. Really a cool set up. Always wondered about it.

                that type air cleaner was std. on the 1967 Z-28 and were available over the counter for years.
