Would NCRS consider carbs dated 8 9 1, 8 9 1 and 8 8 1 correct for a block dated 8 29 of 68?

Re: 69 Tri Power
Carburetors were installed at St Louis, so the build date of the car is more significant than the assembly date of the engine. Judges base their evaluation of the date of carburetors on the build date of the car.Terry- Top

Re: 69 Tri Power
Charles --- given what Terry M. has described, are you able to run your VIN through a birthday calculator to give us a date of completed car, to compare with the carb dates ?
I have an oval port set-up with 9-5-1 ends with 9-8-1 center carb (4055-1); 3 months lag. Unfortunately, I don't know what car it came from.- Top

Re: 69 Tri Power
My observations are that generally the front and rear carbs are the same date, the center is dated differently. I would have to do some looking at data bases to determine if the center is generally dated before or after the ends, but considering the front and rear are the same list number this date progression kind of makes some kind of sense.Terry- Top

Re: 69 Tri Power
Thanks for the information provided regarding my post. It was very helpful and I should have realized that the build date of the car would be more significant than the build date of the engine. I don't know the exact date of car build, but since the ending vehicle in Sept of 68 was 3041 and my car is number 2553, I am assuming that it probably was built late in the 3rd week or maybe early in the 4th week of Sept. If this is the case then the dates on the end carbs of 8 9 1 would seem correct to me. Please correct me if I have misinterpreted something.- Top

Re: 69 Tri Power
#2554 is B24 (September 24, 1968). That is Tuesday of the fourth week of September. There is a slim chance your trim tag will say B23 though. That would be Monday of the fourth week.
8 9 1 is the first week of September -- close, but good enough.
8 8 1 is the first week of August. That will also certainly work.Terry- Top
