There are plenty of threads on this little item but can't seem to find a thread on testing this item to see if the buzzer works. Can I assume that if I ground that connector, that the buzzer should sound?

Re: 69 horn relay/key buzzer
Jim , I believe you are correct, I think a easy way to test buzzer is to take a test light and test each wire from under the column ,one of those wires will sound key buzzer when you touch it with the test light.I don't have a wiring dia. in front of me, But if you do should be easy to locate the correct color wire that needs to be grounded.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 69 horn relay/key buzzer
There is a relay above the drivers fender-well that creates the buzzing sound. The wire from the column attach's to the bottom of the relay. My switch was bad inside the column and the relay would buzz continuously with the key in place. I pulled the wire under the relay and it would stop buzzing. I have since replaced the plastic switch in the column and the key cylinder. If it ends up that those items need to be replaced in your car, Jim has a great paper on replacement and I also have some help full hints that may help.
