    on-line photo critique section

Many yrs ago, I had a subscription to the on line Vette heads. I think it is still around. I didn't care for it at the time but it did (does) have one nice forum where during a restoration a member could post pictures to get constructive criticism from other members. Particularily, body off, near completion rolling frame.

I thought this was great and even entertaining and certainly a great help to the restorer. It isn't a judging on line- just an informal discussion.

I think this type of forum would be interesting here.

Seems to me like that is well within the present parameters of this technical board. Posting photos of different aspects of the restoration and asking for critique would be apropos. One will still need to sort out differing (and opposing) opinions as to how they believe they need to proceed/finish their own project.

      Hi Steve,
I remember VetteHeads "Virtual Judging School" too. I thought it was a very good idea, and very informative; I was sorry to see it fade away.
Over the years the Mason Dixon Chapter has done something similar a couple of times by getting together to take a look at someone's completed chassis and running gear. I wish we could do it more often.
      Regards,

Can anyone provide factual reasons (not speculation) as to why that forum went away?

          Arland -

The Vetteheads site is alive and well. The "Virtual Judging" section was quite popular for the first couple of years, but it took time to get each car set of photos re-sized and posted, and interest waned after a while.

It is alive and well, but you have to pay your dues to even view it. It is a site that probably is not for everyone. If you are thin skinned, it will hurt at times.

Thanks John - I was curious about the 'mechanics' and the process used to post the images that were subject to scrutiny.

                  Steve,

When Chris Enstrom was restoring his 67, he started several threads that had links to photos of his car in progress. He got a lot of good feedback, near as I could tell. Here's one of his threads:

I also enjoyed the "Virtual Judging" I hope they bring it back.
