Anyone ever see a 56-62 with wing windows?

At the 1981 NCRS Natls in St. Louis, thee was 59 with big brakes which had wing/vent windows (wind deflectors, whatever you choose to call them). This is something that the early cars could really use!
Obviously this is an old photo which I took back then and the aftermarket, add-on wing windows are kind of difficult to see----------------so look closely.
Has anyone ever seen this kind of aftermarket add-on for the early Vettes? Anyone know this car?
After all these years, I can't remember exactly how they were attached. But as I remember, holes were drilled either into the door posts or the windshield posts and screws were used to attach them.

Thats like the ones you see on the 30s cars. Like this, but without the rim and the bracket pinches the glass or bolts go through the glass. Would have to be bolted to the window post.

I had a black/red FI 62 with these. The plexiglass was not framed and was attached to the post by small screws. It worked to deflect the wind but I thought that it looked sort of goofy.

Back in the 50's-60's, windwings were a big thing for MG's, Healeys, etc., and places like "MG Mitten" sold lots of them; today, all the outfits that sell Cobra replica parts have them. Here's a C1 with them, and a typical Cobra style.

My '62 had the holes already drilled into the door posts. The wind wings were always something I liked as an accy. so I made up a set and used the existing holes to mount them. I love them! The do a wonderful job of directing the wind. But, I am sure they are not to everyone's taste.

                    David and Tom,
In Ray Miller's book The Real Corvette published in 1975 (that some people don't like because of too many errors), the car used to illustrate the 1962 model year, from El Cajon CAL is white with red interior with hard top, and it has wind wings added, described as an owner-added accessory, and they appear to match yours precisely. Pages 148-160 and in color on 169.

Now, with all of that said, does anyone have a pair that needs a good home, or does anyone know FOR SURE where a pair can be purchased?

Tom, I did a search on finding mine and had no luck. So I looked to other cars and found somewhere that a company that cols A.C. Cobra parts had the hinges. So I bought a set of those hinges and then made the plexiglass windows. I wanted to make the windows out of safety glass, but all the local glass shops wouldn't make them.

                          Tom,
The wings you want are made by AMCO and I believe the part number for the 56 to 62 s is 5006. I have an unused set that I bought years ago and will install some day but can take pictures if you need them. You can search e bay under wind wings , they show up now and then. Good Luck Rich

                            Rich,
                            I'd LOVE to see pictures.

Also, does anyone have a pair that needs a good home? They would be pampered on my 56!
