    1967 Front Spindle

I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension, etc. Upon disassembly, I see that the inside of the spindles are painted chevy orange.

This suspension appears to be original with the riveting ball joints, etc. And the dirt looks about 45 years old!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Common to have orange from a blob, to the whole thing painted orange.

Dab to full length. I have a picture of a 67 Bowtie car and a 66 unjudged/unrestored car and both spindles of each car are orange top to bottom.

I guess no need to repaint it orange after it's cleaned and blasted. No real significance.

        Thanks

You might want to rethink the "blasted" part of your process, as forgings have a unique surface finish that is difficult to replicate. Blasting will destroy the patina of the surface. The orange is somewhat optional, but if your car came that way, restoration would put it back.

After I sent the earlier reply, I've decided to just have the part cleaned and not do any blasting on the spindle. Thanks for your feedback.
