    Washer tubing location needed

I just had my wiper motor and the pump rebuilt on my 69 and have questions on the placement of the hoses. The reason for my questions is that I believe that the hoses were installed incorrectly and I am getting fluid at the headlights and not on the windshield.
    1. On the passenger side the inlet hose goes to the top port and the two bottom ports are Y'ed together and the hose after the Y goes to the drivers side. Is this correct?
    2. On the drivers side of the wiper motor there are three ports also. One port is for the supply from the pump, one for the headlights and one for the windshield. Can someone describe to me which port is for each of these hoses?
    3. On the drivers side there is a electronic item, guessing a relay, that slides over the horizontal port.
    • What is this unit and what does it do?
    • What happens when it does not operate?
    Thanks or your help. Joe
