I bought an accelerator spacer block after reading some posts on the subject. The vendor (LIC) lists them for '63-'67s. I'm about ready to install new carpet (ACC through Corvette America) and decided to double-check the application. The JG does not mention them for '63-'64 cars. A recent post on this TDB asked about installing them above or below the carpet on a '63. The response was "below". Another post indicated that the spacer fits in a hole in the jute underlay and it makes sense to me that if a layer of jute is the underlayment, a spacer would be needed to place the base of the pedal at the corrct height. However my JG says that '63s and '64s have foam-backed carpet. My new carpet is foam-backed. There is no cut-out in the foam or carpet I bought and the spacer is thicker than the foam + carpet. So now I'm having doubts that the spacer block is correct for '63-'64 unless the underlay is different on coupes. Mine is a roadster.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Thanks-Doug
