Does anyone have a picture of the hood release lever and bracket located on your dash? My car has A/C and I was wondering what the size is of the bracket and how close it comes to the A/C vent. Someone bolted my bracket at the wrong location high up in the dash, so that the hood lever sits back. Thanks for any pictures. Dutch

Re: 1966 Hood Cable and Bracket Location
Harry, I don't have a picture but I know that the AC cars had a taller bracket than non ac and the length of the cable was different as well.....this part is specific to C60 cars. Check the AIMDino Lanno- Top

I would assume then, that the bracket could not be bolted onto the bottom of the Dash where the holes are located, as shown in the AIM. My bracket is bolted to a steel rail up behind the Dash. Dutch- Top

Re: 1966 Hood Cable and Bracket Location
Harry,
Be sure you are looking in the C60 section of the AIM because it is a mod related to AC. It shows the hood release bracket bolted to the steel rail you refer to. I recall it uses a nut plate to hold the hood release bracket. As previously noted the bracket is longer on AC cars so that the hood release cable just passes below the LH ac duct.
