    When I let off the gas my transmission slips out of 4th. 1962 340hp .

      sounds like time to R&R as the 3/4 syncronizer is worn out

      might as well r&r trans with all new syncronizers, seals and bearings not hard to do

      don't forget throwout bearing and pilot bushing in flywheel.

          How about a little more info? Have you made any chamges to the driveline lately? Does it shift ok? How long had it been working ok? Is the linkage adjusted correctly?

              Gonna have to agree with Carl based on the limited information. You need at least a "dove tailed slider" and synchro rings providing that fourth gear teeth are not worn completely out.

              Best approach would be to have a good trans expert inspect the trans on his bench. The only way you are gonna know for sure.
