    1963 Jack

I have a jack that came with my 63 basket case. It has the narrow bottom and looks correct except there is a rivet or dowel that sticks up about 1/8" on the top surface. Is this correct?
Can anyone show me a picture of the top surface of your jack. The actual part that would rest against the frame.
    Thanks

That is what I am used to seeing. Is that top piece one piece. What I mean is: is there another piece under it that it is fastened to, or is that top piece one piece onlt?

The top pad is a single stamping. It's riveted to (and pivots on) the ends of the rear scissor arms, and it's supported at the other end by the rounded ends of the front scissor arms.

In looking at mine, the top piece is flat instead of having the 45* up shot. The "A" is the same "A", but in the middle. there are 3 holes in mine and the top piece looks a little shorter.

If you were to remove the top piece, cut at the 45* line, turn it around and put it back on. That is what it looks like.

            Any ideas.

Time to keep an eye out for a Type I Corvette jack.

                John,
                Thank you,
It is just one more thing to add to the list. They say finding the parts is half the fun. Finding them is not the part that hurts the wallet though.
                Thanks again,
                M

I am not big on any reproduction parts but can anyone report how the repro 63-65 jack looks and judges compared to the original type 1.
