A great puchase from the NCRS

I bought, through the NCRS, the Howey/Baird book "1958-60 Corvette Restoration Handbook". I haven't been able to set it down, and I'm not retired yet. To me, it's the best Corvette book on that vintage (wish it was 61-2, but has a lot of good stuff on those) since Noland's volumn 1 came out. Great pics, great detail!
I'd been hesitant about the $80 price tag, but since buying it, found that it has more good info than the last 12 $20 books I've bought. FWIW

    Mike,

I couldn't agree more. I had the privilege to meet and OJ with Tom at the San Jose National a couple of years ago and immediately purchased the book after. Your compliment I know means a lot to the authors. Very few have shared their expertise as much as you have. As a side note, I can still see your smile during the 1987 Monterey Historics with your Gulf Oil car, hard to believe 25 years have passed. No one had a bigger smile! Thanks for everything you do for our hobby.

Rick, DITTO on your comments. I really think Mike should do the '61/62' Restoration book as a follow on to this great work.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Sweet book. I have this as well as the Noland book. The "1958-60 Corvette Restoration Handbook" has a lot of details, it is better for me as I need actual photos. ALSO... I was able to buy this from Ebay for $40 for the CD. I took it and had it printed and placed it in a binder. Since i have it on CD I now have it on my smart phone and my ipad.

          Mike,

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Although I've never judged with you, I think Tom has. Just between us, this is the secret to the 58-60 Handbook: We judge a few times with experts such as yourself, soak up all that knowledge, go home, write it all down, and, viola, a Handbook!

          Thanks again!

          Bob

If Mike will do a 61-62 book I'll pre-pay right now. Mike, are you listening? Bill

              Bob,

When I got my 60 I bought the TM/JG and your book. Between the two of them I found just about everything I needed. Once I started looking at it, I couldn't put it down. It went into the garage with me every night and came back out every night (I tried to keep it clean.........). Such a wonderful resource. Thank you (and Tom) for taking the time to put it together.

Can you do one for 70-71? I'm getting closer to starting on my 71 body off project and could use a resource like this for those years.
