    Re: Jack Murray?

Jack Murray used to come visit me at the BG shows and also Corvette Carlisle. He would brag that he got major discount flying as I recall. One of the nicest Corvette fellows you will every meet. Can't say I have seen him the last few years though.

He and his lovely wife were flight attendants at one time. That is the reason he flew free/almost free

Yes jack did own the green ZR2 convertible. Back when he lived in Illinois and worked for a living. We had some real good times at the "tune up nights" back then.

I'm the fair skinned knucklehead that leaves SPF 50 all over the fenders at Bloomington.

I have a beautiful '67 435 that Jack found, I also had another Corvette that Jack found. He was a good friend of dearly departed Terry Carney. They both were flying to the West Coast buying Corvettes and driving them back to the Mid West for resale when I was in diapers. Terry found the Cobra that Elvis used in one of his movies and brought it back to Chicago or Indiana for resale. This was when it probably didn't matter that it was an ex movie car.

In another 18 years when I'm as old as he is maybe I'll be good enough to sleep on the grass while judging BG too.

Jack was the first MALE FLIGHT ATTENDANT in the industry in 197-73 era. He was always spotting cars while on layovers at what ever city he flew to. He worked for TWA in those days. Jack bought some of the best cars he could find. Many were low mile originals from original owners. He was one of the main spotters for Richard Buxbaum, and Jack Douglas. I met Jack in 1974 when he drove his 1964 Black / Silver Z0-6 , J56, NO3 TANKER FUEL CAR to my shop for its first California Smog test and certificate so he could get the car registered in California from its original Oregon owner. The car had 11250 miles then. When Jack sold it in 2003, it had 13100 miles.
