My car is an early production 1967( No. xx179, Sept 6, 1966).
The AIM says that the nose emblem was revised on Sept 9 1966 from GM part number 3872926(I believe that is for a 1966 model year) to a 3894544. I do not know what the GM 3872926 looks like. So do I use the emblem for a 1967 or for 1966. I have found several other things which were unexpected and are indicative of early model year change overs not yet fully implimented. For example my door panels, which are stamped Sept 6,1966 on the backside cardboard, are longer at the top than ones that were produced later on in the model year. Even though my car is Marlboro Maroon and the interior is dark saddle, the end tabs on the fiberglass dash were not painted the color of the car but are painted dark saddle(there is absolutely no evidence of any marlboro maroon paint on them). I would appreciate any input on the nose emblem and any of the other anomalies.
