    68 Power Window Stuck Down

My passenger window is stuck in the down position. I believe the glass is "too" far down and needs to be raised a little for the motor to begin normal operations. Switch works motors trying and Ive tried manually to move the window. Its not budging. Help

Cathy, if the motor and regulator where working fine before the problem began, chances are you may have a wiring or switch issue, I have seen a lot problems with the wires as the pass through the door opening and into the inside of car. the constant opening and closing of the door or doors tends break the harness wires at the opening area.Another is the window switch contaacts tend glaze over inhibiting the switch to work, The switch can be removed and sometimes the contacts can be cleaned.

      Good morning Ed,
The switch, wires and motor all work. You can hear the motor engaging and trying. The glass is resting on the bottom metal bar. Normally the glass is a few inches off the bottom. If it is the wiring or motor you cant get to either with the glass down. How can I move the glass?

Cathy, I believe there maybe a couple of window bump stops at the bottom of door I don't have a AIM with me here at work, I am trying to figure out what is holding the window regulator from moving.Did possibly one of the regulator arms bend and is hitting something? when moving in the up position.using a drop light look down from the top of the door and see if anything can be veiwed while trying to move the window up or down.

Hi Cathy, It sounds like the last time the window traveled down it went too far. The stops in the vertical tracks may have become loose and fell out allowing one of the glass horizontal track rollers to come out of the vertical track. That would explain why you can't manually move it. I hate to say it but you may have to remove the door panel to gain access to it and put the roller back in the track. Good luck
