C2 deck lid support & spring, correct finish?

What is the correct finish for the deck lid support and spring on my 65 vert? Body color is silver and interior is red.

    Thanks for your help.

Zinc chromate green with a black spring. The assembly was installed prior to paint so it is painted body color along with the underside of the deck lid.

The bottom section will most likely have interior color paint if the painter sprayed that far back. Just duplicate what is in your picture and you should be fine.

Just finished bead blasting the supports and they show signs of being dipped in black, i.e. black runs and black buildup on some edges. These are the same signs that I have seen on other parts that were dipped in black. Did not see any signs of the green primer.

May be an AOS vs St. Louis thing. I dont remember. I dont remove many of them.

            William -

The hinge assembly (as shown in your photo) was received less the spring, which was added prior to installing the hinge in the body. If the hinge was received raw and primed at the plant, it would have been flow-coat primed black at St. Louis, or spray-primed green zinc chromate on an A.O. Smith-built body. The upper area would show exterior body color, and the lower area would show some interior color.
