    c3 parking brake finding

For those of you out there wondering why your parking brake doesn't work... Despite some of the prevailing opinion out there, it turned out that the rear cable (most likely original to my 72) was indeed stuck within the sheath and wouldn't budge. Inactivity of the parking brake (I assume from the stuck cable) then left the actuator arms stiff from non-use - nothing a little penetrating oil and grease wouldn't cure.

Don't overlook the cable - and use your brake occasionally!

    Hi Randy
Yes that is one problem but the main issue is the components seize up and won't move. Star wheels and levers bind up and if they don't then the springs rust and break. If you're rebuilding your PB then add a new cable and they should work as well as possible. Remember they are parking brakes.
